Boyce E. Adams, Jr. serves as Senior Vice President of BankTEL, an AvidXchange company. Prior to spearheading BankTEL’s successful acquisition by AvidXchange, Boyce was previously President and CEO of BankTEL, which serves over 1,700 active financial institutions. AvidXchange is the leading provider of accounts payable (AP) and payment automation solutions for the middle market, and in his current role, Boyce leads the company’s strategy and support of the financial institutions vertical.
Boyce leads the day-to-day operations of BankTEL, which has the largest US market share in the financial institution accounting industry. There are nearly 5,000 US banks, and one out of five uses BankTEL’s software.
Since Boyce joined BankTEL full-time in 2009, the company has added more 1,200 client in ten countries.
Since 2017, Boyce has managed BankTEL’s transition to its flagship cloud service, ASCEND. Over 90 percent of BankTEL’s clients have migrated to this new generation system.
Boyce is firmly committed to providing high-value, innovative, reliable technology and proven customer service to BankTEL clients. As cybersecurity breaches continue to threaten financial institutions, he has led his team to proactively partner with clients in developing anti-fraud solutions.
Prior to BankTEL, Boyce worked in Washington, D.C., where he served in President George W. Bush’s White House, working on appointments to finance and regulatory agencies. In this position, Boyce worked closely with the Federal Reserve, the Department of the Treasury, and other government agencies.
Additionally, Boyce served as an advisor to the Federal Aviation Administrator, Bobby Sturgell, helping with the initial transformation of the National Airspace System into its current, more environmentally friendly iteration, Next Generation Transportation System. Boyce’s insight as a certified flight instructor and his experience as a commercial pilot, with over 3,000 flight hours, served him well in this role.
Boyce holds a BA from Vanderbilt University, where he was a part of the prestigious community-service oriented Ingram Scholarship Program. An avid explorer and traveler, Boyce has logged adventures on all seven continents and over 100 countries. In addition to his aviation experience, Boyce is a rescue scuba diver and holds his monohull sailboat captain’s license. He is a member of multiple non-profit boards, and he and his wife Elizabeth have a daughter named Madeline.
